Medical Has been Evolved

The SRI LANKA MEDICAL COUNCIL is a statutory body established for the purpose of protecting health care seekers by ensuring the maintenance of academic and professional standards, discipline and ethical practice by health professionals who are registered with it.
As presently constituted the Council has representation from medical faculties of the state universities as well as from professionals in the state and private sector.
It is a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal.

BUILDING OF THE SRI LANKA MEDICAL COUNCIL

Work commenced in January 2002. The Architecs were Design Consortium Limited, the Principal Architect was Prof. Lakshman Alwis. The project Architect was Mr. D.M.K. Bandara.

The main contractor was Tudawe Brothers Limited. The contractor's repesentative was Mr. Sathis Tudawe.

The building was due to be completed in December 2002. The contractors kept to schedule and handed over the building in December 2002.

The Council thanks the Architects and their staff and Tudawe Brothers and staff for their efficient and excellent work.

The Sri Lanka Medical Council is proud to have a modern and excellent office building.
